Rebecca

Rebecca Bria O’Neill, M.S., SLP is a Connecticut Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. Rebecca received her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from The Pennsylvania State University in 1998.  Following completion of her academic coursework, Rebecca had the great fortune of receiving an internship and ultimately participating as a Clinical Fellow at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, CT.  This experience solidified Rebecca’s desire to work with children and their families.  Rebecca remained at CCMC through June 2004, during which time she was a member of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Team, performed swallowing assessments, and conducted inpatient and outpatient assessment and intervention across a great variety of age levels and speech and language diagnoses. 

As a founding member and managing partner at Pediatric and Adolescent Speech Therapy associates, Rebecca currently provides outpatient assessment and intervention at Pediatric and Adolescent Speech Therapy Associates and works as a Speech and Language Consultant providing assessment and intervention at a variety of private schools and preschools including:  Ben Bronz Academy, St Thomas the Apostle School, The Hebrew High School of New England, and St. Joseph School.  Rebecca enjoys this dynamic work environment and takes great pride in her communication with families as well as collaboration with off-site administration and staff, as well as other service providers within the community.  Rebecca has received training through the Stuttering Foundation of America through their Eastern Workshop in Boston, Massachusetts.  Rebecca’s areas of specific clinical training and interest include:  stuttering and fluency disorders, cognitive-linguistic disorders, executive dysfunction, central auditory processing disorder, pragmatic language impairments, and language-based learning disabilities.  Rebecca also maintains her clinical competencies in all areas of speech and language development through ongoing continuing education.

Rebecca resides in West Hartford with her family, including her four active sons and her black lab.  Rebecca is a proud member of the West Hartford Community and is honored to provide services to children from this and surrounding areas. 

Rebecca established Pediatric and Adolescent Speech Therapy Associates in 2004 with her partner, Annabell Gwiazdoski.  Rebecca is extremely proud of the services that this practice provides as well as the amazing relationship that she and her partner have with one another, as well as with so many members of the community.  “Developing this practice has been a dream come true for me.  I have been absolutely honored to work with so many special children and their families over the years.  This practice has allowed me to meet my personal and professional goals of providing needed services to children in the community and provide ongoing communication and advocacy on their behalf.  It has also allowed me to achieve the family-work balance that is so necessary.  I’m grateful every day for this opportunity and the success of the practice.”-Rebecca O’Neill
