Lisa Juliano Pillow, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a Connecticut-licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and holds national certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Loyola University Maryland in 1996, where she was awarded the prestigious Dr. Bernard Saltysiak Medal for Clinical Excellence in Speech-Language Pathology.

Lisa’s extensive clinical experience spans a variety of settings, including Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, Franciscan Children’s Hospital in Boston, The Kennedy Day School at Franciscan Children’s, private schools such as Ben Bronz Academy, Birth to Three programs, and Speech Pathology Services in Ohio.

At Franciscan Children’s Hospital, Lisa provided therapeutic services for children and adolescents with complex medical needs and learning challenges, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams of physical therapists, occupational therapists, and special educators. She also played a pivotal role as a member of the Multidisciplinary Neuropsychological Assessment Program, evaluating children’s functioning and providing tailored recommendations for school placements and services.

As the Clinic Coordinator for the Augmentative-Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology (AT) Program at Franciscan Children’s, Lisa authored a grant proposal to Ronald McDonald House Charities, securing updated technology for the clinic. Additionally, she has mentored graduate student clinicians from top universities, including Boston University, Emerson College, MGH Institute of Health Professions, and currently Sacred Heart University.

Lisa has shared her expertise at conferences and events such as the Franciscan Children’s Hospital Annual Conference, the Connecticut Association of Private Special Education Facilities, and the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center Grand Rounds.

In her clinical practice, Lisa specializes in evaluating and treating a wide range of communication disorders, including Articulation and Phonological Disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Receptive and Expressive Language Disorders, Language-Based Literacy Disorders, Late Talkers/ Late Language Emergence, Pragmatic Language and Social Communication Disorders associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Cognitive-Communication Disorders and Fluency Disorders

Known for her compassionate and evidence-based approach, Lisa is deeply committed to helping children and their families achieve meaningful progress toward their goals.

Outside of her professional life, Lisa is an active community volunteer who enjoys running, coaching youth sports, cooking, and spending time with her husband and three daughters.
