Annabell

Annabell Perez Gwiazdoski, M.S. CCC/SLP, is a Connecticut licensed speech language pathologist and is nationally certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). A passionate bilingual clinician eager to service children within her community, Annabell started a private practice based on incorporating best practice, compassion for helping children reach their individual communication goals and strong family involvement.

In 1999, Annabell received her Master of Science Degree in Communication Disorders from Emerson College in Boston, MA.  She completed a LEND fellowship program providing her with an extensive background in neurodevelopmental disorders.  Her clinical experience includes working at various hospitals on the East coast: Boston Children’s Hospital, Westchester Medical Center, and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.  Annabell regularly assessed and treated inpatients and outpatients in both English and Spanish from preschoolers to adolescents with speech, language, voice, fluency, feeding and swallowing, cognitive disorders, and traumatic brain injury. She collaborated with medical doctors, nurses, physical and occupational therapists as well as other speech language pathologists within these acute care environments. Annabell further enhanced her skills by working for the New York State Early Intervention Program, assessing and treating infants and toddlers from birth to 3 years of age within their homes and providing parent education.  In addition, Annabell has worked for various local school districts as a contract employee providing and developing service plans for children ages Pre-K- 5th grade.

Providing speech therapy services for almost two decades and continuously completing continuing education credits, Annabell is an experienced and well-educated speech-language pathologist. Areas of specialized training include feeding and swallowing, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, PROMPT training, bilingual language development, fluency disorders, and social communication disorders.

Outside of the office, Annabell enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 children, and their dog.  She enjoys reading, cooking, and sitting on the beach.

Looking to provide highly individualized speech therapy, Annabell along with her business partner Rebecca O’Neill, developed Pediatric and Adolescent Speech Therapy Associates in 2004. As a result Pediatric and Adolescent Speech Therapy Associates has been servicing clients, as well as educating families and professionals in communities across Connecticut.  Annabell and her staff take great pride in the services they provide to both their clients and their families.
